I started working for ARC in 1998 as Webmaster but was lured away in 2000 for a much higher paying consulting position which ended up being totally bogus. Oh well... live and learn huh?

The dot-com thing went bust just about when that was wrapping up so between 2002 and 2005, I went back to developing web sites on a freelance basis. I always maintained a great relationship with ARC though - so I continued to do additional web development for them on a freelance/consultant basis from 2001 through 2005.

click to advance to the Atlanta Regional Commission Web Site     In October of 2005, my friends at ARC asked me to help implement their new web site and I was glad to be back. I don't think you could find a cooler group of urban planning geeks if you looked the world over. It's July 2010 and I'm still there.

As Webmaster from '98 to '01, I managed the design, development, and enhancements for all internet and intranet projects for the agency as a whole and for a variety of micro-sites for departments within ARC..

Originally, I served as the project leader for a group including 2 graphic designers, approximately 15 content providers, a database programmer, an ASP programmer and several outside vendors. My responsibilities were across the board: I not only coded html, javascript, vb, etc..., but edited content, directed graphics development and managed the tasks of the ASP and VB coders. I marketed and promoted all of ARC's web sites with SEO techniques and by coordinating web efforts with traditional print and other marketing endeavours. Since returning to ARC in 2005, my posse and I have redesigned the ARC Web Site and transitioned from one distributed web content management system (CMS) to another.

Atlantaregional.com is and has been one of the most highly respected MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization) web sites in the U.S. It was credited as such in the Washington Post in 2000 before being given the Phoenix Award for Web Site Excellence in 2007 by the Public Relations Society of America.
